The Texas State Alumni Association hosts a series of signature events in San Marcos every year, including the Football Tailgates, Distinguished Alumni Gala, and the Ring Celebration. Football Tailgates
Join the Alumni Association for tailgates before our TXST football games in the fall! Enjoy food, drinks, music, and a big celebration of Bobcat pride. We have yard games, a kid’s corner, and the only luxury air-conditioned restroom trailer in the parking lot! There's also opportunities to catch TXST President Kelly Damphousse, Boko the Bobcat, and the Bobcat Marching Band.
Distinguished Alumni Gala
Held each fall during Homecoming weekend, the Gala celebrates Texas State University and honors alumni whose prominence and distinction have increased pride within the university community and served as inspiration for others. The Gala draws over 400 of the region’s most prominent corporate and community leaders, along with university administrators, alumni and friends.
Ring Celebration
Each semester, hundreds of Bobcats, family, and friends gather at the Ring Celebration to celebrate achieving an academic milestone and receiving the most visible symbol of Bobcat Pride: The Official Texas State Ring. Bobcats are recognized as they plunge their rings into the fountain of water from the San Marcos River. This act connects Bobcats with the spirit and tradition the river has carried through this campus for more than 100 years.
