LBJ Student Center

Soon to be home of the new Alumni Welcome Center, the LBJ Student Center was named for our most famous alumnus, President Lyndon B. Johnson. Inside you will find the Lair food court, the University Bookstore, Career Services and more. Tucked away on the first floor of the student center are Boko's Living Room and George's, a great live entertainment venue named for country singer and Distinguished Alumnus George Strait '79.

Campus Tours

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts tours and visit days for prospective students and their families. The best way to get a taste of life at Texas State is to spend the day visiting our beautiful campus and talking with current students. They have options to meet various needs - take a guided tour during the week, enjoy the large-scale excitement of a Bobcat Day, immerse yourself in an interest-specific Academic Visit Day. For more information, email The Welcome Center.

University Bookstore

Buy a Bobcat shirt, display a Supercat decal on your car, deck out your office with Bobcat gear. These are fun ways to support our alma mater's history, traditions, and accomplishments. Check out University Bookstore and Fan Shop for ideas.

The Wittliff Collections

Located in Alkek Library, there’s something to discover each time you visit The Wittliff. Their exhibitions tell the stories of the Southwest and Mexico, taken from diverse collections of work by writers, photographers, filmmakers and musicians. Exhibitions change continually – there is always something new to discover. The Lonesome Dove exhibition remains on display year-round. Come see the best of what our collections hold. The Wittliff welcomes visitors, tours and classes. Admission is always free.

The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment

Formerly a resort known as Aquarena Springs, The Meadows Center is managed by Texas State University and is a showcase for research, education, stewardship and environmental leadership projects. They bring together departments and research centers to both engage in scholarly inquiry and provide practical science-based opportunities across Texas and around the world for faculty, staff, and students. The center is open to the public seven days a week and features a Discovery Hall with interactive exhibits and aquarium. Drop by to take a tour on the famous glass-bottom boats for a close-up view of the crystal-clear San Marcos Springs!

Texas State Galleries

The Joann Cole Mitte Building houses the Department of Art and Design. In addition to classrooms, studios and lecture halls, the building has two art galleries that provide more than 3,000 square feet of museum-quality exhibition space. Throughout the fall and spring semesters, a variety of exhibitions feature works by students, faculty, alumni and nationally recognized artists. The galleries are open to the public, so feel free to step inside and enjoy the artwork on display.  Unless otherwise noted, the Texas State Galleries are closed in summer.

Performing Arts

Sitting at the intersection of University Drive and Moon Street, the Performing Arts Center serves as a new front door to the campus. The 69,122-square-foot facility features two professional-quality performance venues —the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre that seats 397 patrons and the Recital Hall that seats 312 patrons. Audiences have taken notice, with a 70% increase in fine arts attendance since opening in 2014. Each year, a diverse lineup of performances displays the talent of students enrolled in academic programs ranked amongst the finest in the country.
