Big changes ahead

The Texas State Alumni Association is developing new ways to engage and connect with our alumni by moving away from our current transactional, dues-based membership model to one that includes all Bobcat alumni we serve.

Beginning October 1, 2019, we will no longer ask alumni to pay a membership fee to be part of the Alumni Association. All of our nearly 200,000 Bobcat alumni will officially be part of the Association.

These changes will allow us to roll out new programs and services for all Bobcats, including you. We are committed to creating a culture of engagement, connection and philanthropy, and highlighting the important role our alumni play within the University community and beyond.

We will still need the philanthropic support of our alumni to grow and enhance the engagement of our Bobcat network. We are developing ways to show our appreciation for those who express their deep dedication to building a strong alumni community by giving to the new Alumni Priority Fund.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up-to-date on exciting news and announcements in the months ahead.

As Bobcats, you know we achieve more when we work together, and the relationships you share with one another are truly lifelong. We hope we can count on your support as we chart this new course together.

Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat!

Frequently Asked Questions

What has changed?

  • All Texas State graduates are now considered part of the Alumni Association. As of October 1, no membership dues are required.
  • All alumni are encouraged to support the Alumni Association in this new direction by giving to the Alumni Priority Fund.

Why is this change necessary?

Connecting and engaging alumni is at the core of our mission to inform, involve and serve members of the Bobcat Alumni family throughout their lifelong relationship with the university. Removing our current transactional membership structure creates an expanded opportunity for the Texas State Alumni Association to reach more of our alumni than ever before. And, a large and engaged alumni body makes Texas State University even stronger.
