Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Download the Gold Book app on your Apple or Android mobile device by searching "Texas State The Gold Book." Once downloaded, simply create an account to be on your way to exploring all Texas State has to offer and to keep your traditions saved. Record your memories by taking a picture at the event or place on campus, uploading it directly into the app while on-the-go or after the fact from your photo library. Be sure to keep all notifications and locations settings turned on to receive timely reminders to help you complete your traditions and receive your prizes.

How do I receive prizes?

As you complete Achievement Levels, complete the Prize Request Form to verify your photos and request prizes. Prizes are available on a first-come, first served basis depending on the achievement level you have completed and are only redeemable once a Prize Request Form has been completed and the Alumni Association contacts you to confirm pickup.

Official Texas State Class Rings are awarded by drawing each fall and spring semester. You must be a current Texas State student with at least 75 undergraduate credit hours to be eligible to receive an Official Texas State Class Ring, however, you may submit your name for your first eligible semester's drawing in advance if you complete the book before earning 75 credit hours.

Completion of the Gold Book must be verified by the Alumni Association office no later than February 1 to enter the drawing for that Spring's class ring, and September 1 to enter the Fall semester drawing. Questions? Email

Request a Gold Book Tour or Presentation

Faculty, staff and student organizations can request a Gold Book presentation or tour for small groups or classes.  Gold Book tours are designed for students who have not started a Gold Book yet.  During a Gold Book tour, a student will lead you and your small group around campus to complete 10 Gold Book items, taking photos to add into the Gold Book app throughout the tour.  Gold Book presentations are available for classes or student organizations who want more information about the Gold Book.

Gold Book Tours are unavailable for the Fall 2018 semester. We apologize for any inconvenience.
