Eligibility for In-State Tuition
Receipt of an Alumni Association scholarship does not guarantee in-state tuition. Nonresidents receiving a competitive scholarship from Texas State University of at least $1,000 per year may qualify to pay the in-state tuition rate, permitted the scholarship is awarded prior to the 12th day of class and the appropriate nonresident tuition waiver form is completed and submitted to Student Business Services. Nonresident tuition waivers are valid for one academic year and must be submitted to Student Business Services each year a student receives a qualifying scholarship award.
If the scholarship is awarded after the 12th class day of the semester, the student is not eligible for in-state tuition. At times, the Alumni Association has scholarship funds that become available after the 12th class day and therefore cannot qualify a student for in-state tuition.
