Join the College of Liberal Arts for the first event in their new Salon Series, a poetry reading from English Department faculty member and renowned poet, Cyrus Cassells.
At this event, Mr. Cassells will be reading poetry from his new book, More Than Watchmen at Daybreak. Following his reading, there will be a question and answer session in which attendees will be able to engage in thoughtful conversation.
All participants will be entered to win a signed copy of Mr. Cassells’ new book, More Than Watchmen at Daybreak.
Mr. Cassells has a forty-year record of publication, a history of successful teaching, and a long list of national awards – including a 2019 Guggenheim Fellowship in Poetry and 2019 NAACP Award finalist. He has published eight highly regarded books of poetry and more than 200 poems in anthologies and premiere journals. Mr. Cassells has received several major prizes, including the Massachusetts Artists Foundation Fellowship, a Lannan Literary Award, and National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Fellowships. His many other national honors include the Pushcart Prize, the William Carlos Williams Award, the Lannan Foundation Fellowship the Wurlitzer Foundation fellowship, and four nominations for the Pulitzer Prize.
