Feb 28 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm CST
- This event has passed.
Presented by the Coalition of Black Faculty and Staff
Because of the courageousness of 5 black students, Dana Jean Smith, Georgia Faye Hoodye, Gloria Odoms, Mabeleen Washington, and Helen Jackson, who took epic steps on the campus of
Southwest Texas State College to enroll as students, WE are standing here 60 years later to celebrate the African American presence at Texas State University. Their legacies have contributed to paving the way for the continuous success of African Americans. At this event, attendees will join in celebrating the progress of desegregation at Texas State.
